Cranberry Orange Herb Butter

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 12

Cranberry Orange Herb Butter is a festive and flavorful blend of softened butter, mixed with the zestiness of orange, the sweetness of dried cranberries, and the aromatic touch of rosemary, thyme, and sage, sweetened slightly with honey. This delightful butter is formed into a log, chilled, and perfect for adding a unique and zesty twist to holiday meals or everyday dishes.

Ingredients

Directions

Step 1

Set butter out to soften for about 30 minutes before ready to use.

Step 2

Add softened butter to a bowl, add cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, honey, and sage. Mix well with a hand mixer or smash with a fork until fully incorporated.

Step 3

Place the butter in the center of a piece of parchment paper. Gently roll the parchment paper around the butter, creating a rough log shape. Take a ruler or bench scraper and use it to gently press against the sides of the butter mound through the parchment paper, helping to shape it into a more uniform cylinder. Roll the parchment paper completely around the now-cylinder-shaped butter. Twist the ends of the paper in opposite directions, similar to how a hard candy wrapper is twisted. For extra security, wrap the parchment-covered butter log in plastic wrap. Twist the ends of the plastic wrap, just like you did with the parchment paper. Keep twisting the ends and flipping the log until it forms a solid, even cylinder.

Step 4

Place in refrigerator for 1 hour to harden.

Cook's Notes

To store herb butter, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and keep in the refrigerator for 5 days or in the freeze for up to 6 weeks.
