Make a tasty Strawberry Trifle quickly using just five simple ingredients: cake mix, eggs, oil, whipped topping, and strawberries, all in half an hour. The recipe is simple and clear, involving only basic mixing and layering steps, anyone can make this homemade dessert.

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350° F. Prepare baking pan with non-stick baking spray.

Step 2

Blend cake mix, eggs, oil, and water in a large mixing bowl at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed or about 450 strokes by hand.

Step 3

Pour batter into a greased pan as directed on the cake mix box. We used a 13x9-inch cake pan. Cake is done with toothpick is inserted and comes out clean.

Step 4

Bake for 23-28 minutes if using a 13x9 pan or as directed on the cake mix box. Allow to cool. Once cooled, cut the cake into 1" squares.

Step 5

Pour 1/2 cake squares into trifle dish, layer 1 container of whipped cream or until cake pieces are covered, and top with 1/2 of strawberries and repeat.

Cook's Notes

You may create additional layers in the trifle by cutting down the quantity of cake, whipped cream, and strawberries per layer.
